Vern Paulsen is the recipient of the 2007/2008 University of Houston Teaching Excellence Award and of Western Michigan University's Distinguished Alumnus Award in Mathematics. He has published over 80 research articles, written four books and has been continuously funded by the National Science Foundation since 1983.
