Wall Street Journal article proclaims Mathematics to be the #1 profession.

Glowinski receives USACM Computational Fluid Dynamics Award
Roland Glowinski, Cullen Professor of Mathematics at the University of Houston, received the 2011 Computational Fluid Dynamics Award from the U.S. Association for Computational Mechanics (USACM) on July 25. The award, given every two years, recognizes outstanding and sustained contributions to the broad field of computational fluid dynamics.

Mathematics students, Markovich and Williams awarded NSF Graduate Research Fellowships
Cameron Williams, a mathematics major and physics minor, and Thomas Markovich, a physics and mathematics double major, are 2012 recipients of National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowships.

Two mathematics faculty won awards for excellence in teaching and excellence in research and scholarship during University of Houston's "An Evening of Faculty Excellence." The excellence awards, given each year, are one of the highest honors bestowed by UH.
